Greylock Glen Trail

An existing Glen trail

Dodson Associates, with a team of wetlands and trail design professionals, is currently under contract to assist Masschusetts DCR in the development of a coordinated system of trails, greenways and associated recreation areas in Greylock Glen. Dodson Associates is using a landscape-oriented approach to the planning and design of the Greylock Glen trail system and recreational facilities. The goal of the plan will be to create a system of trails, greenways and recreation areas that blend in with the natural, cultural and visual character of the site while providing the highest quality recreational and educational experience for future users.

Trails to be developed will include hiking, cross-country skiing, mountain biking/running and equestrian. Observation sites, nature study areas, wildlife viewing spots, picnic areas, scenic overlooks and linkages to the Greylock State Reservation, the Town of Adams and the Ashuwillticook Rail Trail will also be designed. A complete bid package of construction drawings including trail cross-sections and stream crossings will be prepared for the project.
