In collaboration with the planning firm of Abeles Preiss Phillips & Shapiro, Dodson Associates is preparing a Comprehensive Plan for the Town of Yorktown, New York. Dodson Associates was particularly hired to focus on scenic and historic resources within the community. An inventory was created and mapped for these resources and recommendations for protection were developed.

Yorktown has a wealth of regionally and nationally significant resources that include Franklin D. Roosevelt State Park, the Croton Reservoir that provides New York City's water supply and many important Revolutionary War era historic sites and trails. Specific protection strategies were recommended based on the type of resource and the preservation ethic already focussed within the community. Dodson Associates created long and short-term priorities for protection and preservation that correspond to the broader outcomes and products of the overall Comprehensive planning process.
