A number of hilltops and ridgelines in Ashfield have been identified as potential locations for industrial wind turbines. To help Ashfield citizens visualize the potential impacts, Dodson Associates created simulations by overlaying ArcGIS 3D models with photographs.
The simulations show five and ten turbines along Ridge Hill, the locations are hypothetical and not representative of any specific development proposal. The turbines were shown at 425' tall, from the base to the tip of the blades, a typical industrial turbine size. The end product showed that turbines located along Ridge Hill would be visible throughout much of the village and the central part of town.
